Meet APril Greiman

The world of design would not be the same without the famous thinker, designer, and artist by the name of April Greiman.

Considered as one of the leading women designers in the New Wave, post-modern style, she is a feminist icon that pushes the limits and breaks the grid in graphic design. This magazine spread highlights some of Greiman’s most iconic artwork and a written component that explains more of her journey. Transcending print, motion and space, she is an inspiration to me and designers worldwide.

My sketches highlight the variety and inspiration of vibrant colors, eclectic shapes, and overlapping compositions.

THE AMAZING CAVETOWN

Cavetown, one of my biggest musical and artist inspirations, is an up-and-coming indie pop singer from England. Pulling together elements of Cavetown as an artist, like a ukulele, hand-written notes, green and blue undertones, and small drawings and outlines, I created this magazine design spread to share about The Amazing Cavetown.

For the first spread, I photographed the setup with elements of a photography book and album covers. On the second spread, I wrote the article and wrote the lettering that is featured. Lastly, the design ends with a timeline about the musical journey of Cavetown.
